5th Anniversary Work to Play Cup at Midway Plaisance Park, June 3

Date: June 03, 2017

Time: 8:00 am

Join us for the 5th Anniversary Work to Play Cup presented by Target. The event will host 1,500 K-8th grade students from 41 Urban Initiatives partner schools; the Urban Initiatives community will come together to celebrate our participants’ hard work and dedication during the school year. No soccer experience or experience with youth is necessary. We will coordinate training phone calls ahead of the event.

Please select a volunteer position from the following categories:

– Coach: (18+ years old or accompanied by an adult): you will lead a team of K-4th grade soccer players through soccer and recess games, encouraging them to practice teamwork and good sportsmanship

– Referee (18+ years old or older): you will help manage a field, keep track of time, direct/assist players to first aid if needed, monitor water supply, etc.

– UI Hype Squad: this energetic group of volunteers will welcome UI teams off buses as they arrive, pump up parents and spectators on the sidelines, and travel along Midway Plaisaince throughout the day cheering on our kids as the ultimate UI Hype Squad!

– Clean-Up Crew: you will help out from 2-4PM packing up equipment from Midway Plaisance and unloading it at the UI Offices. As one of the least glamorous volunteering roles, but most important, you will be one of Team UI’s favorite group of volunteers.

– If you would like to register a large group, please contact Alison Hung at

If you have any other questions, please contact Kaitlyn Klapperich at
